Hey Dreamers!
Welcome to the May DII newsletter! We're still a little on the quiet side, but there are some signs we're waking up. Not much going on in May (so we've got a short one this month!), which gives you time to take a deep breath and get ready for the Writing Challenge.
Here's the news!
No new publications to report this month, though we do have a few members submitting novels (good luck, Shade & domy!).
( Here's more! )

AOTM is currently suspended for the time being. We have so few members right now, that the event just isn't all that viable. When we get our member numbers up, we'll start it up again!
So your task? Get us new members!!! Talk to your writer friends. Post at other writer boards you visit. Send them our way, and let's get DII jumpin' again!

Revision Rally
Revision Rallies give members an opportunity to focus on revisions - an activity that gets lost in the clutter of every day writing life for many of us. Best of all: you get CRESTS! Here's the rules:
1. Revisions Rallies start midnight on Saturday and end midnight on Tuesday (all times are EST).
2. You can use one piece or multiple pieces for the Rally.
3. You can be anywhere in the revision process, from early to re-revising to polishing.
4. What matters is the total word count processed: if your piece loses words, your word count is what you had when you started; if your piece gains words, then your total count is what you end with (i.e: take the larger of the two counts: starting or ending). If you do hand editing or don't do word counts, then a standard 250 words/page (the average words/page when in a Courier 12 point font with 1" margins) can be used instead.
5. Track your progress in the appropriate thread in the Ready, Set, Go forum.
At the end of the Rally, take the crest for the highest you completed and add it to your signature. If you you end up in the middle, you take the lower crest (for example: if you end the weekend with a total word count of 7500, you take the crest for 5000). You add only ONE crest PER MONTH. And that's it! As always, this is an optional activity.
